Procedure for Applying to hire Research Assistants by Faculty Members during Periods of Family Need

When a faculty member is pregnant, giving birth, raising a child or caring for a family member, or when a faculty member is undergoing continuous medical treatment due to his/her own injury or illness, the University will subsidize the employment of research assistants to help the faculty member secure research time and facilitate her research activities.

The heads of each department, the Director of the Common Education Department, and other faculty members will be given the opportunity to work with the following outstanding associate professors in their departments and divisions
We ask for your active recommendation of female researchers (associate professors, lecturers, assistant professors and researchers).

  • Eligible applicants
    Faculty members (full time), regardless of gender, who are experiencing difficulties
    in their research activities for any of the following reasons:
    (1) The applicant or the applicant’s spouse is pregnant
    (2) The applicant is raising a child (child who has reached 12 years of age and before the first March 31st after that date or a child attending a special-needs school), including a child of the applicant’s spouse
    (3) The applicant is caring for a family member living together or a relative within the third degree of kinship
    (4) The applicant is caring for a family member with disabilities
    (5) The applicant works while undergoing continuous medical treatment for his/her own injury or illness
    (6) Other cases similar to the above reasons

    From April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024(application can be made every year)
